The Other Stuff
As a Community Interest Company, some of our income comes frome trading. We also like to get involved in community projects and opportunities that are of benefit to our participants. This section showcases some of these activities.
Elf School 2022 and 2023
We delivered a magical Elf School experience as the feedback from children, parents and volunteers shows. 225 children took part in the event with about 120 children from New Hartley and Seaton Sluice attending for free. We ran specific sessions for neurodivergent children, which were well attended.
“I liked waking up the elf the best”
“I’d give Elf School 5 out of 5” - children’s feedback
“We travelled all the way from Berwick and were not disappointed. The ladies were so friendly and the kids loved it. Hope to see you next year.”
“Amazing, so much thought and so inclusive”. – parent feedback

2023 Christmas Party
We had a fabulous Christmas party in St Mary's Church that was attended by participants and supporters from most of our groups. Good food, good company and a good time was had by all.
King's Coronation Party

We were lucky enough to receive some money from Northumberland County Council's Community Coronation Fund. This enabled us to bring people from different communities together to celebrate, as we were able to pay transport costs when access to the party was an issue. It was a huge success with about 50 people attending from 5 different communities attending.

Fundraising - Markets and Fairs

Blossoming Communities has stalls at community events / markets as well as hosting their own craft markets. This brings in funding and gives volunteers the opportunity to get involved.

Sponsored Walk
Margaret Allen was a happy person and everyone enjoyed it when she would pop into the group at St Mary's Church Hall in Blyth for a cuppa. She would usually leave with a gift that someone had just made. Sadly, Margaret passed at the age of 94, early in 2024. Her friends and family, with the support of Blossoming Communities, organised a sponsored walk in her memory. The money raised was given to St Mary's Church, where she was a member.
